What you can currently do to proactively prevent workplace harassment
Senior leaders should consistently assess the effectiveness of their harassment-free workplace strategies by examining preventive measures, reviewing complaint data, and discussing corrective actions with relevant personnel. It's crucial to address any issues related to the harassment policy, complaint system, or training thoroughly. Any necessary updates to policies and procedures should be implemented and clearly communicated to employees.
To strengthen these initiatives, leaders might consider conducting regular anonymous employee surveys and partnering with researchers to evaluate and refine their strategies. It's important to inform employees about the efforts to gauge how fair, respectful, and safe their workplace is, aiming to foster engaged and honest feedback in the survey. To maintain confidentiality, the survey should be administered by a third party rather than the HR department. Employees need to feel that management is genuinely committed to fostering an unbiased and harassment-free workplace.
Take steps to create a harassment-free environment
The Workplace Harassment Prevention and Response Survey collects responses into a Google Sheet. This sheet is automatically linked to Google Colab, where data processing occurs through Python script. Once responses are gathered, Google Colab runs the script and generates new sheets for each section of the survey. These sheets are then connected to Tableau, enabling the visualization of the information. This streamlined process guarantees that decision-makers receive aggregated insights from employee feedback while maintaining individual confidentiality.
Track key metrics to address and prevent workplace harassment
The visual dashboard offers valuable insights into essential aspects of harassment prevention measures, organized into four distinct sections. Each statement is assessed using an augmented scale that measures the frequency of incidents. All responses are then translated into a numerical format, where 1 represents the lowest degree of effectiveness and 5 signifies the highest level concerning the procedures for preventing harassment.
